Fiber Laser FAQ
Answers to common turnkey fiber laser questions: facility requirements, assist gas, training, timelines, and selecting power.
Most systems require a stable concrete floor, 220V or 480V three-phase power (depending on the resonator), and a clean supply of compressed air or assist gases. We provide a detailed pre-installation checklist to ensure your shop is ready before the machine arrives.
Standard operator training typically takes 2-3 days. We recommend that your primary machine operator and at least one back-up or shop lead attend. Training covers safety, basic nesting, lens maintenance, and cutting parameter adjustments.
Oxygen is best for thicker mild steel to achieve faster speeds, while Nitrogen is ideal for stainless steel and aluminum to get a clean, oxidation-free edge. High-pressure dry air is a cost-effective alternative for thinner materials.
Lead times vary based on current inventory, but most turnkey systems are delivered and commissioned within 8 to 12 weeks. We coordinate the logistics and technician schedule once your facility is prepped.
